After breakfast, departure to Ambatolampy across the Highlands and its gorgeous landscapes adorned with the Merina’s traditional houses made of red laterite . Short visit to a workshop devoted to the production of handmade pots and to the “Museum of Nature”, better known as “The Cricket and the Spider”, where more than 6000 insects are exposed. Continuation to the ancient spa town of Antsirabe, an important agricultural and indutrial centre. Arrival and transfer to the hotel. Overnight at the hotel in BB
Breakfast and departure for a city tour at the discovery of the local craftsmen who make hats in press, embroidery, gem-cutting of semi-precious stones or zebus horns, etc..
Route for Ambositra, the capital af Zafimaniry region, at the discovery of a traditional wood precious carvings workshop and of a fw Zafimaniry Art shops, across the typical landscape with its rice terraces.
Free lunch and heading to Ranomafana, “the spa”. Arrival and transfer to the hotel. First visit to the Ranomafana National Park in order to see the small mocturnal lemurs called Microcebus. Overnight at the hotel in BB
In the morning, visit to the Ranomafana National Park, known for its wildlife and lush tropical flora. This Park of dense rainforest houses 26 species of mammals including 12 species of lemurs, not to mention the very rare Golden Bamboo Lemur, 96 species of birds and hundreds of orchids.
Its endemic flora and fauna attract foreign and local researchers, especially the Americans who created the Research Centre VALBIO. In the afternoon, driving to Fianarantsoa. Capital of Betsileo and connecting city between the South and the Highlands. Arrival and visit to the city. Overnight at the hotel in BB
After breakfast, heading to Ranohira. On the way, visit to winel cellars and tasting the Malagasy wines. Continuation to Ambalavao at the discovery of the creation of “AVOHA” bark and decoratd with natural flowers. Ambalavao is also known for the famous “Zebus Market” that takes place every Wednesday.
Continuation and visit to the ANJAHA Reserve which gives the opportunity to make acquaintance with a numoerous colony of Makis, approximately 80 elements divided into several famillies and to find the reptiles represented by chamaleons. Continuation to Ranohira across “the South Door” going through the savannah. Arrival and tranfer to the hotel. Overnight at the hotel in BB
Day dedicated to the discovery of the ruiniform massif of Isalo, with its impressive sandstone reliefs and formations dating back to the Jurasic period.
Climbing through the canyons we come across the “lemurs fulvus rufus”, some desert plants such as the” Pachipodium rosolatum” or Dwarf Baobab measuring 50 to 60 cm adorned with nice yellow flowers.
Possibility to hike to the Natural Swimmingpool formed by a small stream that flows among the leafy pandanus trees and other aquatic plants. By late afternoon, meeting at the natural Window of the Isalo to watch the sunset. Overnight at the hotel in BB
In the morning, departure to Tulear across the Zombitse forest dotted with baobabs and gooing through Ilakaka, the region of the Sapphire searchers landscape typical of southern Madagascar: dry vegetation, baobabs and thorny forests. Along the road, adorned by different forms of Aloalo (wooden tomb stones artistically carved), observation of Mahafaly tombs and sculpturs, eternal witnesses to the importance of the ancestors worship in Malagasy society.
Arrival at Tulear; “the City of Sun”, built on the Tropic of Capricorn. Visit the “Antsokay Arbortum”, a garden with the typical southern flora created by a Swiss botanist, the shellfish market and the discovery a small funerary art museum..Then continue to Ifaty . Overnight at the hotel in BB
Free day, relaxing on beach. Possibility of snorkeling or visit of the forest Reniala if the flight is afternoon. Overnight at the hotel în BB
